The rumors are looking more and more like reality. A credible MacDailyNews source says we can expect a sort of “MacBook touch” in October. Here’s the details:

Think MacBook screen, possibly a bit smaller, in glass with iPhone-like, but fuller-featured Multi-Touch. Gesture library. Full Mac OS X. This is why they bought P.A. Semi. Possibly with Immersion’s haptic tech. Slot-loading SuperDrive. Accelerometer. GPS. Pretty expensive to produce initially, but sold at “low” price that will reduce margins. Apple wants to move these babies. And move they will. This is some sick shit. App Store-compatible, able to run Mac apps, too. By October at the latest.

Medicom Toy will be releasing a twin pack of be@rbrick and kubrick sets featuring Batman and the Joker. The toys take design inspirations from the movie with the “Why So Serious” slogan and Batman’s newly improved suit.

This Saturday, July 19, marks the ninth annual Art for Life benefit hosted by the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation. The organization was founded by the three Simmons brothers — hip-hop mogul Russell, Joseph “Rev. Run” Simmons of the pioneering rap group Run-DMC, and visual artist Danny Simmons - as an outgrowth of their personal experience of overcoming adversity through music and art, and their passionate desire to help artists and young people who face the same struggle. Shepard Fairey has donated his original OBAMA HOPE piece to be auctioned off at this highly anticipated event. This piece is approximately 4×6 foot in size and its a mixed media stencil collage on paper. It may be the only fine art piece of this image available to the public. So if you catch yourself in the East Hamptons this weekend, stop by at the Simmons Estate and bid on a historic piece of art.
